SPRING/SUMMER 2023
ABOUT SS23
The SS23 collection explored the convergence of past and present through memory, craftsmanship, and transformation. Delicate femininity and organic silhouettes were contrasted with raw textures and deconstructed details, creating a tension between fragility and strength. At its core, the collection examined the beauty and emotional value of transforming existing materials into something new.
Inspired by natural tones and the poetry found in imperfection, decay, and wear, SS23 embraced materials shaped by time — where signs of aging became part of the garment’s identity rather than something to conceal.
The entire collection was created using Circulose® — a next-generation material made from discarded cotton textiles that are recycled into new dissolving pulp for regenerated fibers. Working closely with the material, Jade Cropper developed and shaped the fabrics specifically for the collection, allowing the material itself to become an integral part of the collection’s design language and transformation process.
For SS23, sustainability was not approached as an added layer, but embedded directly into the collection’s construction, storytelling, and material development.
Presented during Copenhagen Fashion Week SS23, the show quickly became one of the most talked-about presentations of the season, positioning Jade Cropper among a new generation of Scandinavian designers redefining sustainability and contemporary fashion. The runway transformed a shopping mall parking structure into a dust-covered landscape, attracting significant international press attention and industry recognition.
“Although Jade Cropper is one of the younger designers on the CPHFW roster, she was undeniably one of the most talked about throughout the event.”
